The Service Committee, as an expression of
Jesus Christ, is responsible for the direct assistance of persons in
need who seek the help of the church.
The Committee has planning and
oversight responsibility for the church’s ministry to transients,
needy individuals and families, and persons referred by social
service agencies. This includes congregational education on the
issues of human need, managing solicitation for distribution food
for the Food Pantry and maintaining necessary records. It also
assesses new areas of need for hands-on community service.
The Committee is also responsible
for coordinating the church’s participation in Food of Faith, in
which groups and individuals within the church volunteer, on various
Sundays throughout the year, to feed the hungry at Trinity Episcopal
Church.
